Dr. Erez Eitan - CSO, Co-founder

Dr. Eitan was the first to study exosomes at the National Institute on Aging (NIA). As a pioneer in the field, Dr. Eitan has developed novel methodologies and published over 27 peer reviewed articles. Prior to founding NeuroDex, Dr. Eitan served as senior scientist in a leading diagnostic company, Dr. Eitan has led research collaborations with several pharmaceutical companies, as well as academia.

Dr. Olga Volpert - Director of Assay Development

Dr. Olga Volpert, (citation index 14,200, H factor 60) received her degree from the Russian Academy of Sciences. In the USA, she held faculty positions at Northwestern University and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Olga’s seminal studies are published in top tier journals, such as Science and Nature Medicine, and her pioneering work in exosome biology was presented at major international meetings, GRC and ISEV.

VICTORIA AKHIEZER

Victoria Akhiezer - Director of Operations

Victoria is an executive with operational experience in marketing, sales and management. Before her engagement with Neurodex, Victoria served as the CEO of one of Israel’s TV media stations, managing over 250 employees, and leading it through a strategic transformation. Victoria is an attorney with over 20 years of experience in corporate law and contracts.

With an MBA, Ahmed uniquely blends scientific excellence with strategic acumen, contributing to advancements in understanding Alzheimer’s Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Dina Ayupova - PhD, Senior Scientist

An experienced biotech scientist with proven record in early drug discovery and development. Prior to joining NeuroDex Dina worked in Bay Area biopharmaceutical companies, focusing on bioassay development. Dina brings more than 10 years of her extensive experience and skills to the team.

Alex Gekas - Research Associate

Alex graduated from UMASS-Amherst with an MS in Microbiology focused on Applied Molecular Biotechnology in 2021. After working in structural biology labs focusing on drug target discovery research, he joined NeuroDex in May 2023 as a member of R&D. Alex’s free time is divided between going to the local rock gym with friends and volunteering as a ski and snowboard instructor for Boston youth through YES Operation Snowsports.

Emma Vande Brake - Research Associate

Emma is a Gordon College graduate with a BS in biology and a BA in political science, originally from Rochester, NY. Throughout college, she worked as a backpacking and canoeing guide with La Vida, an organization that seeks to catalyze character formation through outdoor education. She joined the NeuroDex team in August 2022 as a research associate, looking to contribute to the development of novel diagnostics for neurodegenerative disease. In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction and poetry, visiting art museums, cooking, running, and hiking with friends.

Meet Sara, a recent graduate from Umass Boston with a degree in Biology and a minor in internal affairs. After graduation, she joined the team at NeuroDex in June 2022. Outside of work, Sara enjoys staying active by going for hikes and indulging her creative side through drawing.
